Taverna Vigna: Italian regional gastronomy among crafts and family memories

I

Italian gastronomy is famous all over the world, appreciated, studied, imitated and sometimes distorted, but Italian culinary art is still always a symbol of passion and creativity. Taverna Vigna is a family restaurant where more than in some other place, food is not just nourishment, but an expression of tradition, art, conditions or social changes, a way of interacting with ourselves and with others. It is ultimately a lifestyle inherited from one’s parents and handed down from generation to generation. In the dishes of the vineyard, exclusively handcrafted and processed with first-level products, we can distinguish other basic ingredients such as memories that make these dishes unique.

The owner and Chef Giovanni Vigna, son of a Calabrian and grandchild  of a Sicilian, was born in Tuscany near Florence and grew up in very different regions: initially Calabria and Tuscany and then spend a year in Lazio, one in Piedmont, two and a half years in Campania, a year in Emilia Romagna and five years in Umbria.

The accumulated varied experience of different techniques and foods is expressed in the final result of each dish that summarizes the gastronomic richness of this fantastic land.

On 20 January 2016 Giovanni Vigna, with his wife Yingli and his sons Vincenzo Marcello and Giuliana Oprah, moved permanently to Shenyang, where they opened the Taverna Vigna on 8 August 2017. In July 2018, after not even one year of life, Taverna Vigna receives the “Ctrip Gourmet List 2018” award, which represents the first major goal of the restaurant which aims to spread the culture and authentic Italian gastronomy in China.

If you want not only to try authentic traditional Italian cuisine, but also to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the “bel paese” and be part of a real family, Taverna Vigna is undoubtedly the best choice you can make.
